An almost 130-year-old UK furniture chain will be closing a popular location at the beginning of August.

The retailer, Leekes, has launched a major clearance sale, marking down all stock at one of its store in preparation for the closure.

The family business, which was founded in 1897, has confirmed plans to close its high street Bilston store. A spokesperson for Leekes said “this beloved British retailer has thrived for almost 130 years – and continues to do so.”

Situated on the town’s high street, the store first opened in 2009. It will welcome customers for the final time on Sunday, August 2.

“Staff and shoppers alike have been sharing their stories, reflecting on years of inspired home transformations and the warm, expert service that has made Leekes a household name.

“While the Bilston chapter is drawing to a close, Leekes remains as strong as ever.”
