- General Kainerugaba confirmed the withdrawal was designed to quash support within the Ugandan military for what he described as ‘that Harry-Meghan nonsense’, reaffirming his direct support for the British monarch.
- The sudden exit comes just two months after Uganda was announced as only the second African nation to join the Invictus Games movement, having already received foundation funding for new adaptive sports equipment.
- The Invictus Games Foundation is investigating the matter as preparations continue for next year’s tournament in Birmingham, which Prince Harry reportedly hopes the King will attend.
