Two members of the Delta State Executive Council have resigned their appointments to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, Orode Uduaghan, and the Commissioner for Youth Development, ThankGod Trakiriowei, are the affected officials.
Their resignations were confirmed in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, and made available to journalists in Warri on Friday.
Aniagwu said the two ex-commissioners stepped down to contest seats in the Delta State House of Assembly.
According to him, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori commended Uduaghan and Trakiriowei for their service to the state and wished them success in their future political engagements.
Following their resignation, the governor approved interim arrangements for the affected ministries.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, has been directed to oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.
Also, the Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Godknows Angele, will supervise the Ministry of Youth Development.
