Welsh actor Owain Rhys Davies, known for his roles in Twin Peaks: The Return and The OA, has died suddenly at the age of 44.
His family announced the news on Tuesday in a statement that read: “This news will come as a great shock to many. The reach of Owain’s love, friendship, and generosity was vast.”
Rhys Davies’ brother, Rhodri, said there were “questions” surrounding his brother’s death, but highlighted the family’s comfort in the “outpouring of messages” received.
Davies played Agent Wilson in three episodes of David Lynch‘s Twin Peaks: The Return and also appeared in the Netflix sci-fi drama The OA.
Tributes have been shared by the likes of SNL UK writer Humphrey Ker and Downton Abbeyactor Joanne Froggatt, who praised his talent, kindness, and joyful nature.
