Trump strips honor from decorated military intelligence veteran who served both parties

The Trump administration’s Department of Defense has reportedly renamed the Clapper Leadership Hall at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) headquarters.
The auditorium, previously named after former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, is now the Thomas Knowlton Leadership Hall, honoring a Revolutionary War officer.
The change reflects President Trump’s long-standing animosity towards Clapper, stemming from his role in investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Unnamed senior defense officials accused Clapper of politicizing the intelligence community, making him unfit for recognition.
Clapper has consistently denied allegations of politicizing intelligence and leaking the Steele dossier, pointing to subsequent reviews that confirmed the investigation’s findings.
