Trump says he will ‘probably be called to settle’ UK Falkland Islands row

US President Donald Trump has stated he expects to be called upon to settle the ongoing dispute between the UK and Argentina over the Falkland Islands.
Speaking in Dublin, Trump questioned whether the UK would be willing to travel to the South Atlantic to defend the islands in a potential invasion.
Trump previously suggested he would not support Britain in a conflict, linking his stance to the UK’s lack of assistance regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham responded in the House of Commons, insisting the UK would be relentless in defending the Falkland Islanders’ right to remain British.
The comments come amid renewed tensions following claims by Argentinian President Javier Milei, despite 99.8 per cent of islanders voting to stay British in 2013.
