Trump gives graphic description of Iran killing protesters surrounded by children in Oval Office
President Donald Trump announced a pause in Project Freedom, a U.S. operation aimed at opening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping.
The operation, which was only announced by his administration on Monday, will be temporarily halted.
The pause is intended to allow time for a potential agreement with Iran to be finalized.
Despite this, the existing blockade of Iranian ports will remain in full force.
Trump stated the decision was made at the request of Pakistan and other countries, citing military success and progress toward a final agreement with Iran.
