Trump praises ‘happy and beautiful’ children during crucial Xi summit
Donald Trump praised the “happy and beautiful” children who greeted him ahead of a bilateral meeting hosted by Xi Jinping in China.
He was visibly impressed by the welcome, which included a military parade, red carpets, and cheering children outside the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Trump described the two-day summit as “an honor like few have ever seen before.”
He also commended China’s military display and remarked that the children were “amazing” and “represent so much.”
Trump and Xi were scheduled to tour the historic Temple of Heaven and attend a state banquet later on Thursday.
