Trump approves $140m Black Hawk deal for Argentina as Falklands row simmers

The U.S. State Department approved a $140 million deal to sell Argentina four refurbished UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters and related equipment.
The sale aims to strengthen Argentina’s border security, counter-transnational crime, and disaster response capabilities without altering the regional military balance.
Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, will deliver the helicopters in staggered deliveries.
The agreement follows statements from Donald Trump suggesting he might not support the U.K. in a potential sovereignty dispute with Argentina over the Falkland Islands.
