This online confrontation follows a previous incident in April where the official White House account also posted a personal insult about DeLauro’s hair.
The exchange occurred despite recent calls from the White House for political opponents and the media to reduce hostile rhetoric, and President Donald Trump‘s documented history of publicly criticising opponents with personal insults.
