Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have rescued an injured kidnap victim in Mista Ali, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, while efforts continue to locate his son, who was also abducted.
The incident occurred on Sunday when troops of Sector 1, OPEP, responded to a distress call over the abduction of Boyi Sauka and his son, Mantum Sauka.
The development was contained in a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the report, the troops immediately began a search-and-rescue operation after receiving information about the abduction.
“During the operation, the troops found Boyi Sauka and rescued him. He had reportedly sustained injuries during the incident.
“He was taken to AG Hospital in Mista Ali, where he was admitted for medical treatment,” Makama wrote.
However, his son, Mantum Sauka, remains in the custody of the kidnappers, according to the report.
Security forces have since intensified their search across the surrounding areas in an effort to locate and rescue him.
The troops are also working to identify and arrest those responsible for the abduction.
