Troops of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA have foiled an attempted abduction and rescued 14 kidnapped victims in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation took place on Tuesday afternoon around Magazu Village following credible intelligence about the movement of armed attackers in the area.
According to a post shared on X by security analyst Bakatsine on Wednesday, the troops responded to the intelligence and engaged the attackers, forcing them to abandon their vehicle and escape into the bushes.
The troops then carried out a follow-up search of the area, during which they found and rescued 14 kidnap victims.

One of the rescued victims sustained gunshot wounds during the incident and was taken to General Hospital, Tsafe, for medical treatment.
No security personnel were injured during the operation.
The successful intervention prevented the attackers from carrying out the planned abduction and secured the freedom of the 14 victims.
“Yesterday afternoon, troops of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, foiled an attempted abduction around Magazu Village.
“Acting on credible intelligence, the troops moved in and engaged the armed attackers, forcing them to abandon their vehicle and flee into the bushes. A follow-up search led to the rescue of 14 kidnapped victims.
“One victim sustained gunshot wounds and was evacuated to General Hospital, Tsafe, for treatment. Thankfully, no security personnel were injured,” Bakatsine wrote.
Bakatsine commended the troops for their swift response, courage and professionalism, saying their timely action helped save the lives of the victims.
