Newcastle United captain, Bruno Guimaraes, is waiting for permission to undergo medicals with Arsenal ahead of a summer move.
According to The Athletic, the two Premier League clubs are close to agreeing a fee for the Brazilian.
This will bring an end to one of the transfer sagas of the last month.
The 28-year-old already informed Newcastle about his desire to join Arsenal.
Although the Magpies have been reluctant to allow Guimaraes leave after selling Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, they have eventually caved into his wishes.
Guimaraes will now join up with Mikel Arteta’s squad for preseason training, as they prepare to defend their Premier League title.
