Train passengers warned as many face ‘major disruption’ for rest of day

Train services across southern England are experiencing major disruption due to a fault with a radio communication system.
The issue, reported shortly before 9am on Thursday, affects communication between train drivers and signallers.
National Rail Enquiries warned passengers of potential delays up to 45 minutes or cancellations, with disruption expected until the end of the day.
Multiple operators are impacted, including CrossCountry, Gatwick Express, Great Western Railway, London Overground, Southern, South Western Railway, and Thameslink.
South Western Railway specifically advised of delays up to 90 minutes or cancellations across its network, with no estimated time for the fault’s resolution.
