Tesco has unveiled a £5.50 “major upgrade” for Clubcard members as the beloved meal deal gets a fresh new look.

The supermarket giant has confirmed it is launching a trial of new hot breakfast and lunch options as part of the deal.

The trial will kick off across 39 stores throughout the UK, allowing customers to pick up hot breakfast or lunch items for £5.50 with a Clubcard.

Available items will feature sausage rolls, croissants, and paninis.

In keeping with the existing meal deal format, shoppers will be able to combine their hot food with sides such as fruit pots and crisps, along with a drink.

The retailer also confirmed it is rolling out new chilled breakfast-to-go options across its larger stores.
