People are rushing to get their hands on a brand new, limited edition flavour of the popular Toblerone chocolate bar that’s inspired by a popular British dessert. Toblerone is the iconic Swiss-style chocolate bar renowned for its distinctive triangular prism shape.

While the classic honey and almond nougat chocolate bar is available in supermarkets throughout the year, many save the indulgence for Christmas, or when they are heading to the airport for a holiday. But now, the popular chocolate brand has released a brand new limited edition flavour variant that’s inspired by a popular British summer dessert.

Taking to Facebook, the account “bigdaddybsfoods” went on to share photos of the brand new Toblerone chocolate bar, which comes in an exclusive red and pink case and features a hint of what the chocolate bar inside looks like.

“Limited edition Toblerone ‘Eton Mess’ only available at Heathrow Airport and comes in a special case,” they wrote in the post.

The accompanying photos went on to show the large display that had been made especially for the chocolate bar flavour, as the bar in question was protected under a glass case.

Inspired by one of Britain’s most beloved summer desserts, the bar combines raspberries, strawberries, meringue and shortcake pieces in luxurious white Toblerone chocolate.

But there’s a catch, as only 4,000 handcrafted bars have been made, with just 65 available for purchase each day – making it one of the most exclusive chocolate launches in the world of airport shopping, according to Heathrow.

It was launched in celebration of Heathrow’s 80th birthday, and timed to coincide with London’s tennis season, making the Toblerone Eton Mess bar the ultimate edible souvenir, as it captures the flavours of a classic British dessert in an iconic triangular chocolate form.

However, its exclusivity comes at a cost, as the 340g chocolate bar costs £27, making it more expensive compared to the classic bar you can pick up from the supermarket.

Despite the cost, fans seemed eager to try the limited edition flavour, as they took to the comment section of the post to share their thoughts.

“Holy moly, this is my dream,” one person said, while someone else wrote: “I’d book a holiday just for that.”

“Why am I seeing this 4 days after I was at Heathrow,” someone else said.

However, the price tag also seemed to discourage some from wanting to try it, as one said: “£27 you are having a laugh!!”

“£27? Gonna stay at Heathrow at that price,” someone else wrote.

But another noted: “Thing is I will be in holiday mode so I will probably buy it.” It’s said to be available while stocks last.
