A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has condemned the move by the presidential candidate of the 2027 African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar to stop President Bola Tinubu from contesting the next election.

DAILY POST earlier reported that Atiku, on Friday asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to disqualify Tinubu from participating in the 2027 presidential election.

The former vice president is seeking Tinubu’s disqualification over an alleged forgery of the president’s National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, discharge certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

According to Atiku, the NYSC certificate submitted to INEC bears the name Tinubu Bola Adekunle which the plaintiff claim differs from the President’s name, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Reacting, Igbokwe, in a Facebook post described Atiku’s move as childish, accusing the former VP of corruption.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is asking PBAT to produce his NYSC Certificate. Oro pe si je. The corrupt Custom man is not done yet. This is becoming childish.

“Atiku Abubakar knows that Nigerians cannot trust him with the Treasury of Nigeria”, Igbokwe wrote.
