We’ve arrived at the time of year when many people are going abroad, but some have admitted unlikely sights have been emerging during their holidays. A Tenerife tourist recently drew attention to this as she shared her view from her balcony only to leave people gobsmacked by the sight they witnessed.
Sarah recently posted footage of her view, and people’s eyes were drawn to something quite unexpected. Even though she was enjoying her holiday, and trying to make the most of her time at the travel hotspot, viewers couldn’t help but point out a problem and some couldn’t believe their eyes.
It’s not the first time a spotlight has been placed on the Canary Islands hotspot recently either. Just weeks ago, other holidaymakers couldn’t believe what they witnessed while relaxing on their sunbeds.
Alongside the footage, Sarah wrote: “View from H10 Gran Tinerfe.” After she shared it, one thing got a lot of people talking.
While many people said the hotel was nice, one element really grabbed attention. One said: “I’ve been here since Wednesday. Can’t decide if it’s Tenerife, Rainerife or Cloudarife.”
Another added: “Glad I left yesterday. Hope it brightens up for you.” A third replied: “Cloudy again!”
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “I arrive tomorrow. Hope it brightens up a bit.”
Someone else also added: “We came home today. It rained around 6.30am. The last week has certainly been a mixed bag.”
It was hard not to be drawn to the weather when Sarah’s video showed a lot of grey sky. Though it wasn’t raining, the view looked rather gloomy and dark.
However, she admitted she’s also seen “beautiful” weather during her time away. Others also commented to say they’ve had lovely holidays in Tenerife.
One said: “I’m there for my 50th next month. Can’t wait.” A different person posted a photo of glorious weather, writing: “You do something wrong.”
Another also chimed in with: “Good thing I was there last week. It was lovely and hot.”
Generally, the weather is meant to be good in Tenerife in May. The destination is considered warm, sunny and dry at this time of year, making it ideal for beach holidays and outdoor activities.
Daytime temperatures generally range from 18°C to 24°C at this time of year. However, this year the weather has been a little more unsettled.

The start of the year has seen the island experience unusually bad weather, including strong winds, heavy rain and sandstorms (calima) due to a series of Atlantic storms. These storms, which took place in March and April, were considered the worst in decades.
However, generally Tenerife is considered a popular destination, even during the winter. Tourist boards in Spain have been contacted for further information.
