- The court heard James flirted with the boy in class and exchanged Snapchat messages before driving him to her home where they had sex.
- In a police interview, the pupil stated he felt he had been groomed by James, who asked him to call her Miss when they were alone together.
- The relationship was exposed when another student showed a teacher sexually-charged text messages sent between the defendant and the victim.
