Founder, Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Akwa Ibom State, Apostle John Okoriko, has described as foolhardy the act of embarking on a prayer and fasting just to revenge or fight perceived enemies in one’s life.
He added that such adventure amounts to futility as God does not answer such prayers.
Speaking during the monthly Interactive Service at Life Tabernacle, Eket on the theme, ” Why Prayer and Fasting Fail,” the cleric said the reason why it may seem as if prayer and fasting are ineffective was because people pray amiss and outside the ordinance of God.
He added that things will start working for better in families and Nigeria as a country, if Christians begin to pray and act according to the will of God, regretting that unbelief and ingratitude have remained big issues hindering prayers from being answered.

His words, “prayer and fasting among Christians cannot achieve the expected results as they do not back it up with action and walk the talk but only depend on God without working to accomplish the purpose of their prayers
” Other reasons include unbelief, continuous begging instead of thanking the Lord for what he would do, fasting to revenge or fight enemies in their lives and inability to transform the prayer into action for God to perfect it.
” Fasting can fail if Christians do not act what they pray and fast for. You must act something you are praying for so that God can make it to be permanent.
” If you pray to become a millionaire, you must act as one of them and also do legitimate work that will bring money.
” Activate human efforts before God will intervene. Do not fold your hands and wait for money to come.
” After going through fasting and prayer, the next thing should be action by activating what you prayed for. Note that money comes through the work of your hands.”
