Stevie Nicks’ younger brother Christopher Aaron Nicks has died after a private cancer battle. He was 72.
“It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my father, Christopher A. Nicks, early this morning, surrounded by family,” Aaron’s daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks, wrote via Facebook on Saturday, September 5, confirming her father’s passing one day prior. “Some of you may know that he spent the last 2.5 years battling a cancer diagnosis, and to some this may come as a shock. If this is news to you, please know it was because he never wanted people to worry about him that he kept this to himself.”
Nixi, who her father shared with his ex-wife, Lori Perry-Nicks, a former backup singer for his famous sister, continued, “I know that he has left his mark on so many people, and this will leave many more than his immediate family with a piece of them missing. I know I speak for my dad when I say that his friends, his lost boys, meant the world to him.”
She concluded her announcement by speaking to her late father directly, writing, “Rest easy, Coach. We will see you in Neverland.”
Nixi also confirmed her father’s passing via Instagram, sharing a black-and-white photo of the devout daughter holding her dad’s hand as he appeared to lay in bed.
“Second star on the right, and straight on til morning,” she captioned the emotional post. “I love you daddy. Rest easy. “
