  • Six additional people have been charged with violent disorder in Southampton, bringing the total number of people charged following recent unrest to 11.
  • The charges stem from protests that erupted after the sentencing of Vickrum Digwa for the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak.
  • Public anger was fuelled by the release of police body-worn video showing Mr Nowak being handcuffed and subsequently dying after stating he could not breathe.
  • The newly charged individuals include Kevin Reeves, Andrew Riddett, Harry Varney, Taylor Grundy, Dillon Crawford, and Andrew Summerhayes, with Summerhayes also facing two counts of possessing an offensive weapon.
  • All six are scheduled to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning.
