Olympic gymnast Simone Biles revealed she experienced a severe health scare earlier this week, stating she “almost died.”
Biles shared a photo of hospital bracelets and a monitor showing a high resting heart rate (126 bpm) on her Instagram Story on Saturday. “I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age. But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week,” she wrote.
She described the experience as “one of, if not the scariest experience of my life,” noting her husband, Jonathan Owens, was away for NFL training.
While not disclosing the specific illness, Biles indicated she has been resting in bed and plans to explain more later.
This incident follows previous public discussions by Biles about navigating health challenges, including the “twisties” during the 2021 Olympics and post-competition exhaustion.
