A Scottish woman has died alongside a dog after being hit by a car in Lincolnshire.
Emergency services raced to the horror incident on the A1 at South Witham at 9.35pm on Saturday, May 9. Lincolnshire Police have named her as Melanie Genrich, also known as Mel, 52, from Edinbugh.
Her family are aware and have asked for privacy. They are currently being supported by specialist officers.
Police say investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing. The force has thanked members of the public who have come forward with footage and information so far.
Lincolnshire Police has asked anyone who was travelling either northbound or southbound of the area at the time to come forward. They are specifically asking those who spotted Melanie with a dog and a man.
A statement reads: “Our investigations into the circumstances of the collision continue and we would like to thank all those who have already come forward with footage and information so far.
“We would also like to further appeal for anyone who hasn’t contacted us so far and who was travelling either northbound or southbound on the A1 at South Witham, Lincolnshire between 9.15pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 9 May and recalls seeing a man, woman and a dog walking in the area or the actual collision, or anyone who may have captured the pedestrians or the collision on dashcam to please get in touch.”
