Tributes have poured in for a mum-of-five who was found dead at her home in Aberdeenshire after a man appeared in court for a non-harassment order.
Nichola Anderson, 26, was discovered at a property on Forglen Crescent in Turriff after police were called to a report of concern for a woman at around 10.05am on Thursday, July 30.
Emergency services attended but Nichola was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland say her death is being treated as unexplained, but is not believed to be suspicious.
The tragedy came just days after a 27-year-old man appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court charged with allegedly breaching a non-harassment order made against him, reports the Press and Journal.
It is understood the man was not arrested in connection with Nichola’s death.
Lewis Henderson, 27, appeared in the dock on Monday charged with allegedly breaching the order, which was imposed in April 2024. Court papers allege the order was breached on a number of occasions between December last year and July 29, 2026.
He also faces a charge of allegedly attempting to pervert the course of justice by factory resetting a mobile phone in an alleged bid to erase data.
Henderson denied the allegations during his court appearance.
Following Nichola’s death, heartfelt tributes have been shared online by friends and members of the local community.
One person wrote: “Nichola was a lovely quiet quine and a very caring mum. She will be sorely missed.”
Another said: “Heartbreaking. Thinking about her children and family. Nichola was a lovely young lady.”
A third added: “There are no words.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.05am on Thursday, July 30, 2026, we received a report of concern for a woman at a property in Turriff.
“Emergency services attended, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.”
The spokesperson added: “On Thursday, July 30, 2026, a 27-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with breaching a non-harassment order.

“He was due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, August 3, 2026.”
