Rylan Clark has hit back at his co-star live on his BBC Radio 2 show this weekend after she branded him “difficult”. No strangers to a humorous exchange, the presenter and Sally Boazman, better known to listeners as Sally Traffic, jokingly clashed ahead of her news segment.
After playing a selection of songs, Rylan could be heard asking: “What’s your problem?”, to his co-star in the studio. Sally replied: “I don’t have a problem,” to which he claimed her expression suggested otherwise.
Seemingly referring to an off-air conversation with another colleague, she said: “You were so rude about me to Ellie. I was so nice about you.”
Hitting back, Rylan said: “You wasn’t, you liar, you said I was difficult.” Defending her comments, Sally chimed in: “I said you could be difficult.”
In response, the BBC host fumed: “Well that’s like saying, ‘It could be you’, it’s not the lottery.”
She hit back: “Do you know what, the week I win the lottery, you’ll never see me again,” to which he joked: “I’m praying for your numbers to come in, I tell you.”

The presenter later expressed sympathy for his co-star after she revealed she had endured “a difficult week” following a foot injury sustained while out shopping.
Rylan’s latest show comes after he appeared on ITV’s The Assembly, which sees famous faces take the hot seat and answer unfiltered questions from autistic and neurodivergent interviewers.
During the programme, Rylan was left completely caught off guard when he was quizzed about his infidelity during his marriage to Dan Neal.
One student asked: “When you told your husband you cheated on him, he divorced you. Is honesty always the best policy?”
He responded with “oh wow” before adding: “Yeah, I think it is. I’m okay admitting I’m in the wrong, because actually I don’t deal well with guilt and I don’t deal well with secrets.
“It made me so ill, like so ill. It sounds a terrible thing to say, but I’m glad it happened.”

Rylan was then asked what he misses most about Dan, to which he replied: “Do you know, I never think of him.”
The former X Factor star and his ex-husband split in 2021 after six years of marriage.
He has since found love again with fairground worker Kennedy Bates, whom he reportedly began dating last summer.
In a previous discussion on his BBC Radio 2 show, Rylan revealed that Sally was the first person to meet his new partner after the pair unexpectedly crossed paths during their first date.

Sharing her first impressions with listeners, she said: “[I thought] ‘Well, he looks alright to me, yeah, you’ve got my approval’. He’s a lovely man.”
“He is a lovely man,” Rylan echoed. “And I’m a very lucky man.”
Rylan on Saturday airs weekly from 3pm on BBC Radio 2.
