Calderwood Primary School’s parent council brought all the fun of the fair to the local community.

Visitors to the fair enjoyed some fun in the sun with main attractions that included a surf board simulator, face painting, axe throwing and a silent disco.

The event also had all the family favourites including the traders stalls, bake stand, tombola, raffles, games room, tuck shop and cafe.

A whopping £7,828 was raised for the school in three hours at the annual fundraiser.

Elaine Miller, Chair of Calderwood Primary School Parent Council, said: “We continue to be blown away with the funds that are raised at our fairs.

“Thank you so much to the families, pupils, staff, community groups and businesses who supported our fair. So many people donated, took a stall, made stuff, baked stuff, volunteered and spent time and money at the fair.

“All of the money raised enhances the learning experiences of our children with funds paying for transport, trips, and school equipment.

“We are very mindful of the increased cost of living for families so our aim is to also fund free fun events like school discos and P7 leavers events to benefit every child in the school.”

Local MP Michael Shanks also attended the event.

He said “It’s fantastic to see local events like this so well attended and supported by the community. It really is all the fun of the fairs.

“A massive well done and thanks to the parent council and staff for delivering such a great event!”
