People in the UK are being urged to get involved with an RSPCA initiative to help animals in need. The RSPCA shared the plea on social media, asking people to take part and offer their support.
In the ‘June 15’ update, the animal welfare charity asked the public to take part in this year’s RSPCA Week. Posting on Facebook, RSPCA (England and Wales) said: “Join us in celebrating RSPCA Week from 15 June to 21 June. RSPCA Ambassador, Kate Lawler, is here to tell us how you can get involved and make a difference for animals in need!”
In the video, Kate Lawler explained how animal lovers and pet owners can get stuck in. Kate said: “Have you heard about RSPCA week? If not, where have you been? It launched last year. It’s an annual event where we’re encouraging the nation to do something incredibly fun, as well as raising money for the RSPCA.
“I’m seeing today exactly where your money goes and it really is inspiring. The more people that sign up for RSPPA Week, the more the charity can keep protecting animals like moose here, and giving them the help they need.
“If you want to sign up, it takes just two minutes. So get online, search RSPCA week or tap the link, and you get a free digital pack with loads of ideas to help get you started.
“Whether you’re a nursery, a school, a family, a dog mother like me, or just dog-obsessed? Click the link and get involved, and let’s show these animals some love they deserve.”
Running from June 15 to June 21, RSPCA Week is a fundraising initiative to support animals in need. The charity website says: “RSPCA Week is a fun and inspiring fundraising week that invites everyone – from schools and community groups to families, workplaces, and animal lovers everywhere – to get involved and support the world’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity. Get ready to celebrate, learn, and make a difference for animals in need!”
The charity also highlights ‘seven acts of kindness’ that people can get involved with this summer. The RSPCA said: “Help make this a Summer of Kindness for animals. Because kind acts, however small, combine to create a more compassionate world.
