A train crash in which a train driver died and 100 people were injured has been described as a “tragic, isolated incident”.
Nine people are still in critical condition after the crash near Bedford on Friday.
The incident involved a Luton Airport Express train colliding into the back of an East Midlands Railway train around 5pm.
The railway line between Bedford and London St Pancras will remain closed until 28 June for a “complex” recovery operation.
This closure will cause significant disruption, with no Greater Thameslink Railway services north of Luton and no East Midlands services south of Bedford.
