Prices of US flights and hotels are falling ahead of World Cup 2026 – here’s why
World Cup: US stadiums turning into soccer pitches
Travel costs to the US for the 2026 Men’s World Cup, hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico, are significantly decreasing due to dwindling demand.
Flight fares from the UK to US destinations have fallen, with an open-jaw itinerary to Dallas and returning from New York now costing £945, down from over £1,000.
Connecting flights via Dublin offer even cheaper options, with a non-stop flight to Dallas and return from Newark costing £645, a drop from over £800.
Hotel rates in major US cities are also declining, with a double room in midtown Manhattan falling by 13 per cent to $513 (£377) for a specific date.
Non-football fans can also benefit, with London to Los Angeles return flights available for around £515 in June, significantly lower than the usual £700-£800.
