Albright’s Raw Pet Food, an Indiana-based company, has issued a recall for its Chicken Recipe for Dogs Complete and Balanced due to potential salmonella contamination.
The affected product, with an expiration date of April 28, 2027, was distributed nationwide to consumers and to retailers in Massachusetts, California, South Carolina, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and New York.
Pet owners are advised to safely dispose of any contaminated batches to prevent consumption by children, pets, or wildlife.
Salmonella can cause symptoms such as vomiting, decreased appetite, and lethargy in pets, and can also be spread to humans, though no illnesses have been reported from this specific recall.
The recalled items can be identified by product number 20855404008367 and lot code C001730, sold in 1lb clear vacuum-sealed pouches.
