Police foil attack on Borno APC governorship candidate’s convoy

The Nigeria Police Force says its tactical team foiled an attack on the convoy of Mustapha Gubio, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Borno State, and other political figures.

The incident occurred on Thursday along the Kareto-Damasak road in Borno State.

According to the police, terrorists attacked the convoy with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs).

“The tactical team forced the terrorists to retreat into the surrounding bush and subsequently scanned and cleared the immediate axis to neutralise secondary explosive threats,” the police said.
