Adekimi Ojo, Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, has confirmed the abduction of the traditional ruler of Igbesi community in Isin Local Government Area of the state.
Armed bandits reportedly invaded Igbesi community within Oke-Onigbin town on Saturday night at about 11 p.m., abducting the traditional ruler, Oba Moses Oyinloye Iwedunmoye I, the Kabiyesi Onigbesi of Igbesi land.
The incident was also confirmed to DAILY POST by the Coordinator, Joint Security Watch, Kwara South, Comrade Zubair Olaitan.
He disclosed that a search and rescue mission had been launched by a combined team of soldiers, police, local vigilantes, hunters and members of Sunday Igboho’s Iru-Ekun group to rescue the monarch.

Although the exact whereabouts of the abducted monarch remained unclear, the state Commissioner of Police, who confirmed the development, clarified that no other person was kidnapped aside from the monarch.
The police boss said, “Efforts are in top gear to rescue the victim.
“The narrative of attacks within the past 24 hours is far from the truth; nothing of such,” he added.
