Plateau airlifts 1,138 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia

The Plateau State Government says it has successfully airlifted 1,138 intending pilgrims from the state to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Executive Secretary, Plateau Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Daiyabu Dauda, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Jos.
Dauda said that the final batch of the pilgrims departed the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, via a chartered flight to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to him, the board in collaboration with relevant stakeolders and agencies, made adequate arrangements to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
He thanked Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his support and commitment towards the welfare of the pilgrims.
Dauda also urged the pilgrims to be law-abiding and conscious of the spiritual significance of Hajj while in the Holy land.
