Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has paid a condolence visit to former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, following the death of her husband, Anthony Adeniyi “Niyi” Adeosun.
Niyi Adeosun, a reputable businessman and devoted Christian, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos State, at the age of 62.

The governor disclosed the visit in a statement on Monday, saying he conveyed his condolences to Adeosun, her children and the entire Adeosun family over the loss.
“During the visit, we conveyed our heartfelt condolences to Mrs Adeosun, her children and the entire Adeosun family over this painful and profound loss,” Abiodun said.

He described the deceased as “a respected businessman and devoted Christian who lived a life of faith, service and commitment to his family.”
Abiodun said Niyi’s death was a great loss not only to his immediate family but also to those whose lives he touched.
“His passing is undoubtedly a great loss, not only to his immediate family but also to all those whose lives he touched,” he said.
The governor prayed for God’s comfort and strength for the bereaved family, asking Him to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
“We pray that Almighty God will comfort Mrs Adeosun and the entire family, strengthen them through this difficult period and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Abiodun said.
He also prayed for the repose of the deceased, saying, “May God grant Mr Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun eternal rest and may his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
The Adeosun family had earlier announced Niyi’s death in a statement issued by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family.
The statement, titled “Announcement of the Passing of Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun,” described the deceased as a reputable businessman and devoted Christian who made a positive impact on the lives of those who knew him.
