‘Peter Obi unhappy over OK Movement leadership crisis’ – Kwankwaso’s spokesman

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), is unhappy about the leadership crisis in the OK Movement, according to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s spokesman, Ladipo Johnson.

Johnson disclosed this during an interview with Arise Television.

He acknowledged that there were disagreements within the movement but said the crisis would not affect its plans ahead of the 2027 general election.

He described the situation as a temporary distraction and urged supporters not to allow it to create divisions within the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso alliance.

“Yes, we have, may I call it a distraction at the moment. It is not such, in my own humble opinion, that would lead you to take unilateral actions that could possibly scuttle or bring bad blood within the support base of the person you purportedly want to become the president of the country,” Johnson said.

Johnson advised members of the movement to avoid actions that could undermine efforts to build a strong political platform. Instead, he urged them to focus on expanding the movement nationwide.

He said the disagreement was caused by differences between some members and the movement’s leadership but expressed confidence that the issues could be resolved.

Johnson also revealed that Obi had been informed about the situation and was unhappy with it.

“I saw the presidential candidate last night along with the DG. He’s not happy about the whole situation,” he said.
