Parts of UK to sizzle in temperatures hotter than Spain this weekend

The UK is set for a north-south weather divide this weekend, with the south experiencing warmer temperatures exceeding 20C, potentially hotter than Madrid.
London and surrounding areas are forecast to reach up to 21C on Saturday, offering bright and dry spells after a grey week.
In contrast, northern regions like Newcastle upon Tyne will see significantly cooler temperatures, dropping to around 9C, with Scotland also remaining chilly.
Warmer air will move into the south from Thursday and Friday, but temperatures are expected to dip again by Sunday, with next week likely to be cooler than average.
Showers and longer periods of rain are anticipated across the north of England and parts of Scotland, extending south overnight into Sunday.
