Palestine Action: Dozens arrested outside court as activists are sentenced
Protesters are detained by police outside Woolwich Crown Court, London (PA)
Seventy-two people were arrested outside Woolwich Crown Court for allegedly supporting Palestine Action, which is classified as a proscribed terrorist organisation.
The arrests occurred during a demonstration held while four activists were being sentenced for a raid on an Israel-based defence firm’s UK factory.
Police vans were used to transport the arrested demonstrators, with the first arrest taking place around 1.20pm, amidst chants from the crowd.
The four activists, Charlotte Head, Samuel Corner, Leona Kamio and Fatema Rajwani, were convicted of criminal damage for their August 2024 raid on the Elbit Systems factory in Bristol.
Samuel Corner was also found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm after fracturing a police officer’s spine during the incident at the factory
