  • Seventy-two people were arrested outside Woolwich Crown Court for allegedly supporting Palestine Action, which is classified as a proscribed terrorist organisation.
  • The arrests occurred during a demonstration held while four activists were being sentenced for a raid on an Israel-based defence firm’s UK factory.
  • Police vans were used to transport the arrested demonstrators, with the first arrest taking place around 1.20pm, amidst chants from the crowd.
  • The four activists, Charlotte Head, Samuel Corner, Leona Kamio and Fatema Rajwani, were convicted of criminal damage for their August 2024 raid on the Elbit Systems factory in Bristol.
  • Samuel Corner was also found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm after fracturing a police officer’s spine during the incident at the factory
