‘Out of therapy but not healed’ – Nigerian TikToker, Mirabel returns months after false rape claim

Months after she was taken into custody and sent into rehabilitation by the Ogun State Government, TikToker Nsikak Abigail aka Mirabel has returned to social media with a defiant post.

The influencer resurfaced on Saturday with four TikTok posts, her first since February when her false rape allegation blew up online.

“I survived, so I’m awaiting your hate comments,” she wrote in one post.

In another, she admitted the damage remains, saying, “Out of therapy but not healed.”

In a third, she took a swipe at the system that tried to help her: “Made peace with my mental health since rehab couldn’t help. Hi y’all.”

And in the fourth, she said, “We all make mistakes, but not a bisexual

Her comeback comes months after she reported herself at Ogijo Police Station in Sagamu, claiming she was raped on February 15, 2026, after opening her door to a “neighbour.”

The videos went viral and sparked outrage. But police investigations found no evidence to back her claim.

In June, the Ogun State Ministry of Justice, in a statement by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, said investigations by relevant authorities established that Mirabel’s rape allegation was false and deliberately fabricated.

According to the statement, findings from the investigation, including admissions reportedly made by Mirabel, showed that no rape incident occurred as initially claimed.

“The investigations by relevant authorities, as well as Mirabel’s own admissions, established that the rape allegation was false and deliberately fabricated,” the statement said.

The ministry explained that since no offence had been committed, there was no suspect to arrest or prosecute and no threat to public safety arising from the allegation that had generated public concern.

The government said it decided against prosecuting Mirabel, opting instead to rehabilitate her.

The statement added that Mirabel was currently under the care of the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, where she is receiving rehabilitative support.

Now back online, Mirabel admits she is still battling mental health issues.

Her return has triggered fresh debate online. While some asked for a refund of the money sent to her during the outcry, others said she deserves a second chance, while many argue that she should be held accountable for wasting public resources and damaging real rape victims.
