Oreo has launched a collaboration with K-pop sensation BTS, introducing special-edition cookies available online from June 1 and in stores starting June 8 across over 80 markets.
The unique Oreos feature purple wafers, a tribute to BTS’s iconic color, and include 13 distinct embossments designed by the band, such as member names and their light stick.
The sandwich cookies contain a white-and-tan creme center formulated to emulate hotteok, a popular Korean brown sugar pancake, a flavor chosen after a two-year development process.
BTS expressed their honor in collaborating with Oreo, noting they ate the cookies as children and are now sharing a ‘taste of home’ with the world through this partnership.
The collaboration aims to appeal to a broader audience, including Gen Z, by tapping into the growing consumer demand for global flavors and cultural experiences, a trend supported by social media and expert observations.
