One of the officers involved in the Henry Nowak murder case has resigned, police say.
Nowak, 18, was handcuffed by police while he lay dying after his attacker, Vickrum Digwa, told officers that he had racially abused him, body-worn camera footage shows.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police told the BBC that an officer had stepped down but three others who were involved were continuing to serve.
Sir Keir Starmer said he “felt sick” watching footage and said a full investigation was needed into how “accusations of racism” informed the police’s decision-making in the case.
Digwa, 23, was on Monday sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 21 years served for murdering the 18-year-old in Southampton.
