The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sanctioned 79 of its personnel for various acts of misconduct, including dismissals, compulsory retirement, and recommendations for criminal prosecution.
The disciplinary measures were disclosed in a statement issued by the NSCDC National Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi.

According to the statement, the Corps concluded disciplinary investigations involving 75 officers accused of offences ranging from employment fraud, financial misconduct, theft, and unauthorized absence from duty to activities considered detrimental to national security.

The NSCDC said the sanctions followed established disciplinary procedures aimed at upholding professionalism, accountability, and integrity within the organisation.

The statement further revealed that two officers were dismissed over their alleged involvement in an incident that led to the death of the Commander of the Mining Marshals, Levi Agada, in Rafin Gabas, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, on February 18, 2026.

According to the Corps, the officers unlawfully discharged firearms during an operation linked to suspected illegal mining activities. Beyond their dismissal, the NSCDC recommended that they be prosecuted in court.

The agency also disclosed that four other personnel are currently facing disciplinary investigations over allegations of illegal arms trafficking.

In addition, the corps said investigations are ongoing into the activities of other suspects linked to the destruction of critical national assets and illegal arms smuggling.
