NPFL: Yusuf expects more from Shooting Stars after Inter Lagos victory

Shooting Stars technical adviser, Salisu Yusuf is optimistic that his team will get better with more games, DAILY POST reports.

The Oluyole Warriors started the new season with a hard-earned 2-1 victory over newcomers, Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, on Friday.

Lucky Emmanuel gave Shooting Stars the lead in the 14th minute, while Adigun Damilare equalised for the visitors nine minutes later following a fine delivery into the box.

The hosts netted the winning goal from the spot through Sodiq Ibrahim in first-half stoppage time.

Substitute, Mustapha Adams missed the chance to double Shooting Stars’ lead when he failed to convert from the spot late in the game.

Yusuf insisted that his team would improve as the season progresses.

“It’s step by step. I think we will play better than this with more matches. We’ve been together for a short time, and we have this result.

“If we have one month, you can imagine what to expect,” Yusuf said after the game.
