The Niger State government has commenced the reconstruction of the Bako Kontagora Stadium ahead of the 2026-27 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season.
The Stadium is the home ground of NPFL side Niger Tornadoes.
The state commissioner for Youth and Social Development and Supervising Commissioner for Sports, Jacob Baba Yisa, assured that the renovation work will be completed before the start of the new season.
He added that the renovation will also include facilities for night matches on the ground.
