Northwest University Kano has expelled 34 students after finding them guilty of examination malpractice, while several others have received various disciplinary sanctions.
The decision was announced in a statement released on Tuesday by the university’s Head of Public Relations, Abubakar Ibrahim.

According to the statement, the disciplinary actions followed the institution’s review of the report submitted by the Examination Misconduct Investigation Committee for the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic session.

The university said, “34 students have been expelled, 18 suspended from their studies, while 22 others received written warnings” based on the committee’s findings.

It added that one student, Rukayya Ahmad Zukuri, was exonerated after the allegations against her were reviewed.

The university also reminded students to comply with examination regulations and uphold the principles of honesty and academic integrity in all aspects of their studies.
