North Lanarkshire Council’s 7-a-side Suicide Prevention football tournament is back for its 2026 edition.
Join a host of other teams at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility on Wednesday, September 9, for a day of football, bringing our communities together and raising awareness that it’s okay to talk and okay to ask for help.
Whether you’re a team of workmates, friends, family, a community group or a school team (aged 16 and over), the council team love to see you there.
A council spokesperson said: “Together, we can raise awareness, tackle stigma and remind people that support is always available.”
Last year, around 250 players from schools, community groups, friends and voluntary organisations took to the pitches at Ravenscraig.
Stalls from SAMH, Kooth Mental Health Support, Scottish Fire and Rescue and YAMS (You Are My Sunshine Charity) were on hand throughout the day, offering advice and highlighting the importance of talking openly about mental health.
North Lanarkshire Provost Kenneth Duffy said: “Events like this show the power of community in tackling really difficult issues.
