This August, North Lanarkshire Council’s Arts Development team are inviting people of all ages to discover how creativity can improve wellbeing, build confidence and bring communities together.
Running in venues throughout Airdrie, Bellshill, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld, Motherwell and Wishaw, the new term of Arts & You classes offer something for everyone.
From ceramics, painting and photography to music, drama, creative writing and dance, Arts & You provides welcoming, tutor-led classes designed to help participants learn new skills while enjoying the many benefits of creativity.
The programme continues to champion the growing evidence that taking part in the arts can have a positive impact on both physical and mental wellbeing.
Creative activities can reduce stress, improve confidence, encourage mindfulness, strengthen social connections and provide a valuable opportunity to switch off from the pressures of everyday life.
Whether you are looking to rediscover an old hobby, try something completely new or simply make more time for yourself, Arts & You offers a supportive environment where everyone can flourish, regardless of experience.
This term’s programme includes a wide range of opportunities for children, young people and adults, including pottery, drawing and painting, community choir, guitar and ukulele, inclusive music sessions, photography, filmmaking, animation, drama, dance and creative writing.
