‘None of your business’: Farage bits back at critics amid investigation into £5m gift
‘I can spend it on cars if I want to’, Farage says as he faces grilling over £5m gift
Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, is being investigated by the Commons sleaze watchdog for failing to declare a £5 million gift.
The donation was made by crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne weeks before Mr Farage stood in the 2024 general election.
Mr Farage stated he could spend the “unconditional gift” on anything, including cars, and deemed what he did with the money “none of your business”.
He has previously offered conflicting reasons for the gift, including private security and a reward for Brexit campaigning, but insists he has done nothing wrong.
A serious breach finding could lead to his suspension from the Commons and potentially a recall petition for his Clacton seat.
