Several children of prominent Nigerian political figures celebrated major academic milestones in 2026 after graduating from universities across the United Kingdom.
For their families, the year was marked not only by political engagements and public service but also by proud personal moments as they gathered to celebrate these academic achievements.
Here are five politicians’ children whose UK university graduations were publicly announced in 2026.
1. Joaquin Wike
Joaquin Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzette Wike, graduated with a Master’s Degree in Management and Technology Change from King’s College London in January 2026.
His graduation was announced by the FCT Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, on his X handle, where he celebrated Joaquin’s academic achievement.
The milestone attracted congratulatory messages from supporters, family members and associates of the FCT minister.
According to Olayinka, the graduation ceremony was attended by the minister, his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzette Wike, their son, Jordan Wike, Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara’s successor, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, PDP National Vice Chairman (South South), Dan Orbih, and Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, among other family members, friends and associates, who joined in celebrating the academic milestone.
The achievement also attracted congratulatory messages from well-wishers.
2. Fatima Ganduje-Ajimobi
Fatima Ganduje-Ajimobi, daughter of former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, graduated from King’s College London in January 2026.
Fatima, who is married to Idris Ajimobi, son of the late former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, completed her studies at the prestigious UK institution.
The graduation ceremony was attended by her father, Abdullahi Ganduje, her mother, Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje, the widow of the late former Oyo State Governor, Dr Florence Ajimobi, her husband, Idris Ajimobi, and their children.
Announcing the achievement on his official X handle, Ganduje wrote, “Yesterday in London, I had the honour of celebrating my daughter Fatima’s graduation from King’s College London. Her journey has been marked by diligence, grace, and quiet strength.”
3. Ariwera Jonathan
Ariwera Jonathan, son of former President Goodluck Jonathan and former First Lady Patience Jonathan, graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom in 2026.
Although his course of study was not publicly disclosed, the milestone was celebrated by his parents. Announcing the graduation on Facebook, the former president wrote, “Congratulations to our son, Ariwera, on your graduation from Manchester Metropolitan University. Your mother and I are proud of your hard work. Wishing you the very best and a successful future ahead.”
4. Jazmyne Wike
Jazmyne Wike, daughter of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Justice Eberechi Suzette Wike, graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons) with Upper Second-Class Honours from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom in July.
Her graduation was announced by the FCT Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, on his X handle.
The ceremony was attended by Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and the 2027 APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, Kingsley Chinda, alongside family members, friends and associates, who congratulated her on the academic achievement.
5. Oduko Soludo
Oduko Soludo, daughter of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and the state’s First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham in July.
Celebrating the achievement, Mrs Soludo described her daughter’s success as a product of hard work, sacrifice and unwavering faith.
“You have shown that true success is not a product of chance but of hard work, sacrifice and steadfast faith in God,” she said, while urging Oduko to remain committed to learning, strive for excellence and always uphold humility and kindness,” she said.
