The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has denied demanding the resignation of Gianni Infantino as FIFA president.

NFF was reacting to rumours that they are part of the football associations that want Infantino to step down.

A statement released by NFF read: “Contrary to reports, especially on social media, @thenff has never asked and is not asking for @FIFAcom President, Mr. Gianni Infantino to step down as FIFA PRESIDENT.

“This is outright falsehood. Kindly disregard.”

This rebuttal comes as Infantino continues to fight for his future as FIFA president, following his failed attempt to sell off stakes in the World Cup to private investors.

UEFA have already threatened to boycott the 2030 edition if he refuses to leave.
